What Would You Like To Change In Windows 12?

How do you mean a tabbed explorer?
Well with W11 the open explorer pages just pile up on top of each other in/on the taskbar, or am I just missing a setting ?
It does not do this in W10 when you set Combine taskbar buttons to Never. Using the Taskview button kind of works, but I`m not liking it, never did.

Forget the Taskbar!
With a Tabbed Explorer, this is your new Taskbar...

Too busy to google :)

QTTabBar

I don't use either of the versions there, though..., they don't work well with Windows 11 unless you pull a few stunts!
I use version 1038..., only problem is, I don't know where you can get your hands on it!

I`m not gonna experiment with it, not with what the other member said it did to his drives and folders and what not.
Maybe I`ll try going back to having Explorer keep opening the same window instead of another window.

The Files app in the MS Store works great. Try it, you'll like it. No more series of clicking the back button when moving things around. The appearance of Explorer is a little different but still good.

Well, I changed explorer to only open 1 page at a time, because I know where I`m going and I know what I want there.
@Dch48 Is this what you`re talking about ?
Installed it and seems to work great. But there are 2 down sides I found. You have to click twice on a item once you are in that folder to open it, and it uses the default W11 right click menu. I don`t like that.
I can go much faster in explorer by just using the navigation pane.

I really think it is time for Microsoft to finally implement a tabbed file manager.
I'm a long time Directory Opus user, and I can tell you that once you get used to a tabbed file manager, File Explorer feels severely crippled.

Besides the advantages of tabs, File Explorer is slower than other file managers that I've used.

Yep, that's it. I've always had to double click on things so it's no different for me. It does not change the right click menu but isn't supposed to. I find it much better than the default explorer because I do a lot of copying and pasting things from one folder to another. Just switching tabs is faster than clicking the back button several times and then the forward one to get back again.

OK, found it. IDK, just seems a bit redundant to me. I also set it to open a new tab when I click on a item.
I`ll just have to use it to master it :) but pretty good so far.
