I just had a look at your specs and our processors are in fact the same I believe, only you put the maximum turbo frequency and I put the base frequency as I have never found the need for the turbo option (I think it comes in on it's own if needed) and also I don't like running too hot. Maybe you could tell me more about that.

Not all chips can be overclocked the same .....even if they are the exact same cpu. Some OC better than others. My chip runs at 5.2GHz ....well I should say when its on. I turn it off every night. Never leave it on 24/7 Also the make of the motherboard is VERY important. Some are much better than others. The one I use is made for overclocking. That's its main feature. Everything is Air cooled in my rig, I've got a huge tower with 6 fans blowing at all different locations. Also got a portable AC close to this rig for the summer time heat. LoL Both your rigs are laptops ....no offense but they are hard to keep cool when overclocking. My computer case empty weighs around 45lbs .

That is where the Alienware really comes into it's own as it is specifically designed for overclocking and can give a terrific boost although it's not needed on mine very often and is mostly off but the AWCC is a fantastic program for that
