I ONLY believe in the... Great Pumpkin.
Everything else is... illusion. :)
I need only look behind my monitor to witness the evidence that the GREAT SPAGHETTI GAWD is real.

I need a brain implant, to keep me from going to really dumb forums. Ooops, did I really say that? See? I really do need that brain implant!

Speaking of really dumb forums....
I was asked to be a moderator on the old and original Windows 8.0 forum. It was totally overrun with hackers, spammers and crazies.
I and one other Moderator were kept busy just banning the spammers, etc. That forum was about as bad as Windows 8.0 itself.
I was actually glad, when that forum was taken down. I wonder if a copy of Win-8.0 even exists today. Not here!
We were all praying for Windows 9.0, which of course never happened. Windows 8.1 was like a totally new OS, nothing at all like its predecessor. I still run 8.1 on all my old x86 laptops.
I suppose as a computer enthusiast, and hobbyist, I should be excited by the idea of Windows 12, but actually, not so much. Right now, I'm just enjoying the heck out of Win-11.

I'm reading some of the old post and came across your post and wanted to reply. I truly think the reason MS skipped over Windows 9 was because they didn't want people to associate the new Windows (Window 10) with the old Windows (Windows 8.1.)

I don't try to analyze why MS does this or that, like why did they create Windows 8.1? I'm just glad they did.
My only question today is "Why 12?". Do we really need a new OS? Again, WHY?

Windows 11 works just fine, if people would just wake up, and turn OFF those danged MS Updates.

I work many different Computer forums, and I'll just guess that 90+% of problem complaints, occur after an MS Update.
For years, I've been hollering from the rooftops, "Turn the dang thing OFF!", then sit back and just enjoy your OS.
I don't even waste my time responding to the complaints about problems that result from an Update. Just ignorance in motion.
