When the quote was made it actually made a lot of sense with the plans for the new upgrade regime with Windows 10, during it's lifetime, to continuously update functionality as well as the usual bug fixes.

Assuming a proposed release date when Windows 11 is approaching end of support around 2025/6 I would expect the first public Beta in a couple of years - you have to remember that the leak that started the rumour, (and this and other sites), was specifically about Microsoft advertising for programmers and engineers to work on coding Windows 12 starting sometime this year

I think it looks nice. i like the Start Menu but not that it's back on the left. I prefer the center. The Control Panel looks very good. Overall a from me. Of course it's just someone's concept though.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October.
