Yes. I went as far as buying a Windows 10 Pro key so I can dual boot and activate it. :cool:

I had a few problems on the way, all sorted by forum members. Things like... Wouldn't install because no optane drivers, boot menu needed fixing as it didn't show on startup only reboots, renaming the OS's changing drive letters on it's own etc... Good news it's all working now

Hi folks

@The-Hive

If you use the "VHDX" method for windows installs you only need 1 EFI partition and 1 std NTFS partition containing as many VHDX files as youwant / can fit on the disk, Install the OS via dism/apply-image and update the boot manager with bcdboot.exe -- the boot manager will be written to the EFI partition and youll get a multi boot menu.

You can also do this so all these installations boot entirely from an external drive (as per "windows2go") too -- but in this case only updates will work --major new releases wil have to be installed from scratch. If installing to an internal disk then windows updates work via WU as normal even for major cumulative updates to a new build. I haven't yet got W12 on the menu though so far !!!

With GPT disks, you can have over 100 operating systems installed. :-)

With GPT disks, you can have over 100 operating systems installed. :)
Hi there
The point also on doing it this way is you only need 1 EFI and 1 single standard partition to install as many Windows OSes as you like -- each Windows OS is fully secure boot enabled etc (if required) . With Windows on different partitions each installation will need its own EFI / MSR and Windows partitions and of course its own boot manager.

I thought partitions are for small people like me. You should stick to buying Disks. :p
